Born in Vilafranca del Penedes, Barcelona, Spain in 1972.

Marta Marce has lived in London since 1997. She studied her MA at the Royal College of Art (1998-2000) with a Bundy Scholarship and her Degree in Barcelona at the Facultat de Belles Arts (1990-1995).

She lived and studied in Berlin (1996) and Paris (1994) for four months respectively with Erasmus Program. She received an Intercampus Scholarship to Lima, Peru, in 1996; and has participated in several workshops by QUAM in Spain. She was awarded a Picker Fellowship in Kingston University (2000-2001).

She has been showing her work internationally as well as in the UK. During April to June 2008 she has been awarded an Abbey Fellowship at the British School at Rome. During July/September 2007 she was the artist in residence in Camden Art Centre. She has programmed a debate around the subject of Abstraction and had Open studios to the public. And November 07 to January 08 showed Diadem Paintings at Riflemaker Gallery, Soho side, in London.

In March 2007 she had her second solo show Encounters in Moriarty Gallery, Madrid. And in February 2007 her work was shown in Slipping Abstraction at Mead Gallery in Warwick.

In June 2006 she had a solo show Pasajero at Riflemaker gallery, London. Her work also was shown at Nice to meet you at Mark Moore Gallery in LA and Sensorial Material at Bohhams gallery in London.

In 2005 She had a solo show Jouable at Moriarty gallery, Madrid and her work was shown at Colour my world at Riflemaker gallery, London and John Moores 23 at Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.

In September 2004 she had also a solo show Playroom at Riflemaker gallery, London. In April 2004 she had another show at Mobile Home Gallery, London. And in March her work was shown in London in Artfutures 2004 organised by Contemporary Art Society.

In 2003 her work was exhibited in New British Painting: Part I in John Hansard Gallery, Southampton. Also at The Bold & the Beautiful, New Art from London at Carnegie Gallery in Hobart and at RMIT Gallery in Melbourne, both in Australia. In 2002 her work was exhibited in Ways of Seeing at Blains Fine Art and The Bold and the Beautiful at Mile End Pavilion, London. She also exhibited in Cross Current at Miller Durazo Gallery in Los Angeles (2002).

Her work was nominated for the Jerwood Painting Prize 2001, touring at Jerwood Gallery, London and Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow. That year she also had a two-person show with Sigmar Polke at Milton Keynes Gallery. Her work was selected by New Contemporaries 2000, touring Milton Keynes, Manchester and Edinburgh.

She also has showed at Bloomberg Space ArtAid 2002, a group show in Carnaby St England our England, Sala Lola Anglada, Barcelona (1994), SBC Painting Prize, London (1995), Rijeka Biennale Mladih in Croatia (1995), Alem da Agua MEIAC, Badajoz (1996). She had a Solo Show in Área, Barcelona (1996).
